Elio Revé Junior continued the tradition of his father’s Orchestra. Elio Reve Senior’s career started in the mid 50ies when he “immigrated” from Guantanamo to Havana and popularized the changui rhythm. He played a central role in the development of salsa and timba in Cuba. Band leaders like Juan Formel (Los Van Van), Cesar Pedroso and Chucho Valdes started in Reve’s band. Elio Reve died in a tragic car-accident in 1997. Elio Reve Junior keeps the fire burning with new cd’s and regular world tours.
