The band of Lionel Limonta has been a household name in the timba scene since 1998. From the very beginning, it has been crystal clear that star lead singer Haila Mompie (AF 2007) would have a bright future as a solo artist... unsurpisingly she left the band a few years later. Back in 1998 Azucar Negra performed in Hoogstraten with Haila.
