Tego Calderon

Tego Calderon is considered as the godfather of reggaeton, he’s the one who caused the commercial breakthrough for this new style of latin music, that since then is associated with Puerto Rico. Under the influence of dancehall he created his own “voice of the streets’”, a combination of urban hip hop and Caribbean rhythms. His big success was the 2003 album “El Abayarde”, since then his nickname.
